Millville Plans Block Party To End Summer The Millville Recreation Department plans to host their last of three block parties on the Riverfront to end their summer concert series. Saturday, September 12 at the Riverfront Park a 6 hour party is scheduled with music, food and fun for the entire family. The free concert will begin at 5 pm and run until 11 pm. Opening for the evening will be the Eddie McLoyd Band. To many of his fans, a show starring Eddie McLoyd is always an exciting and memorable experience. Eddie started singing in church while still a child and those experiences lend an extra flavor to his music. Eddie has toured with such stars as the "Delphonics", "Kool and the Gang" and for years co-hosted a television musical variety show in New York. Eddie and his band will be performing a full show of pop, R&B and Oldies but Goodies. Up next is The Bubba Mac Band. Known throughout the South Jersey shore area Bubba opened the famous Bubba Mac Shack in Somers Point, NJ. A passionate musician, Bubba has traveled to many of the hallowed blues halls around the world. Bubba's passion for the blues delights the crowd with help from fellow musicians Terri Showers, Karen Logan-Graham, Lew London, Mike Conti and Chris Sooy. For those that absolutely love the blues - Bubba is a band to see. Headlining the evening is one of the best bands around today - Almost Famous. That's a bold statement, but it's exactly what you'll be saying after your experience their show. Their electrifying performances are a tribute to the best of Arena rock performed by some of the most talented musicians around. They take you on a voyage by progressing effortlessly through a who's who of Rock & Roll's greatest hits and biggest anthems. Their dead-on versions of the songs they perform amaze crowds everywhere. Leppard, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Queen are just a few of the bands they will incorporate in their show. In addition to the free music concert, a variety of food vendors will be on hand selling anything from cheese steaks, funnel cake, gelato, fries, ice cream plus many other mouth watering specialties. A beer garden is also available for anyone 21 years of age or older with proper ID. This year's block parties were hosted through funds received by the Urban Enterprise Zone, a State run funding source. The City of Millville expects over 2,000 people to appear at this popular downtown event.
