9/11 - Never Will The American People Forget
NEVER WILL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FORGET The City of Millville, as it has always done since the attack of terrorism on September 11, 2001, will remember the victims with a ceremony dedicated to their memory. Riverfront Park at Buck & Main Streets will be the site of this year's service. The public is invited to attend to join in prayers of remembrance and sing patriotic songs. Area churches have been invited to attend and offer prayers. The evening will end with a candlelight vigil sponsored by the Millville Fire Department to remember all of the New York Fire Fighters who lost their lives that fateful day. Scheduled to appear is Mr. William Mead, New Jersey State Vocalist, along with the Atlantic City Fire Departments Sandpipers Bag Pipes, area church choirs and audience participation. "Although its been 8 years since the attack, we still need to remember those who lost their lives that fateful day, and also to honor our first responders, who go above and beyond each day responding to emergencies"; stated Mayor Tim Shannon, Director of the Recreation Department. The service is planned for 6:30 pm and should run approximately 1 hour. To find out how to participate or further information, you can contact the Millville Recreation Department at 825-7000, ext. 7392. |
