Planning

The Planning Department is the repository for the City’s Master Plan which is the ‘blueprint’ for Millville’s land use over time. The City’s Master Plan, including its new 2017 Land Use Plan Element are available to read online or download at the tabs below. Other planning documents of interest to citizens are also listed on the tab below. 

The Planning Department accepts and reviews land development applications for the Planning Board and the Zoning Board. In general, a Planning Board application is for a subdivision or site plan development and a Zoning Board application is for variance from the Land Use Ordinance (Chapter 30 of the City code available at the tab below). Both Zoning Board and Planning Board applications for variances are submitted to the Planning Department. Application forms for both Boards can be downloaded at the ‘Planning Forms’ tab below. 

All applications must be submitted, at a minimum, 21 days prior to the meeting of the Planning or Zoning Board. The dates of 2017 Board meetings can be found at the website for the respective Boards under the ‘Government’ tab.
