Water & Sewer Connection Fees

Fees
  • Water: $940 per equivalent dwelling unit (EDU)
  • Sewer: $1740 per equivalent dwelling unit (EDU)
When Connection Fees are Required
Per section 56-65 of the Municipal Code, water and sewer connection fees will be imposed if three conditions are met:
  • A new physical connection to the system is made either directly at the main or indirectly on the property
  • There is an impact on the system as a result of increased water or sewer flow for the property
  • There is an increase in the number of new connectors or users on the property

Office, Retail, or General Commercial Buildings
Water and sewer connection fees for commercial buildings shall be based on the estimated average daily flow of water and sewer.
  • Water: 300 gallons per day = 1 EDU
  • Sewer: 240 gallons per day = 1 EDU
If a certification from an engineer cannot be provided estimating the average daily water and sewer flow at the time that the construction permit is issued, then the connection fee imposed shall be based on the following: 1 EDU for every 2,400 square feet or portion thereof.

Industrial or Manufacturing Buildings
Water and sewer connection fees shall be based on the estimated average daily flow of water and sewage.
  • Water: 300 gallons per day = 1 EDU
  • Sewer: 240 gallons per day = 1 EDU
If a certification from an engineer cannot be provided estimating the average daily water and sewer flow at the time that the construction permit is issued, then the connection fee imposed shall be based on the following: 1 EDU per 2,400 square feet or portion thereof.

Warehouses
Water and sewer connection fees shall be based on the estimated average daily flow of water and sewage.
  • Water: 300 gallons per day = 1 EDU
  • Sewer: 240 gallons per day = 1 EDU
If a certification from an engineer cannot be provided estimating the average daily water and sewer flow at the time that the construction permit is issued, then the connection fee imposed shall be based on the following:1 EDU per 10,000 square feet or portion thereof.
